Corners

Corners of Love…

Corners are everywhere,

In the house and on the streets,

On my desk and in my cupboard,

Also somewhere in my mind too.

I love corners.....

The corner in my room,

where stands my easel with the canvas,

the paint and the palette.

The corner by the street,

which is home to an old gulmohar tree

blossoming in bright red, spitting fire towards the sky.

The corner on my desk,

where I place my favourite photoframe.

The corner in my cupboard,

which has treasured those scarlet letters of love.

Then there is that corner in my mind,

where I keep things,

unseen, untouched and unfelt by others.

That corner which has secrets and fantasies,

known to me alone.

Sometimes this corner is tidy and sometimes full of chaos.

Sometimes it has questions and at times I question it,

Is this corner real or a figment of my unknown self?

But not until I met another mind with a corner same as mine.

It made my corner real

seen, touched and felt by another.

It made me meet myself - new and whole.

It made me think and sketch a poem called “ Corners”

to celebrate my love for all those beautiful corners.
